Tisanes: More than a Cup of Tea

If you’ve had a chance to browse our site or our store, you may have noticed that we offer more than a cup of tea for the weary traveler (or shopper). Tisanes, pronounced “ti-zane,” literally comes from a Greek word meaning crushed barley. They were traditionally consumed for medicinal purposes, but we think they are good enough to enjoy simply for recreational ones.

While you won’t find crushed barley in any of our tisanes, you will find a wide variety of everything from dried herbs to fruits, flowers, and nuts. Try something new today.

Choose a Tisane

Our Bright Berry Tisane makes a perfectly delightful drink over ice. Add a splash of lemonade and you have a slightly sweeter version. This tisane contains hibiscus, currants, elderberries, cherry and raspberry flavors. With its bright red color and no caffeine, this tisane is a great choice for kids to try too.

Pina Colada Tisane is another good choice for days when you need to cool down. Pick up a glass and imagine yourself relaxing on the beach. As you may have guessed, it’s a blend of pineapple and coconut flakes, and also contains apple bits and rose hips.

Raspberry Mint MelodyFor those of us who like a little less sweet and a little more bite, Ginger and Sweet Orange is a wonderful blend of both. This tisane contains ginger root, of course, with hibiscus, licorice root, orange peel and more. It’s refreshing both iced or hot, and a good one to remember when cold season comes around again.

When you’re craving sweet and minty, taste our Raspberry Mint Melody. This tisane does a fine job of balancing flavors such as raspberry, blackberry, hibiscus petals, chamomile blossoms, and of course, mint leaves.

Which one intrigues you? Stop in for a cup and stock up your cupboards.
