Tea and Tunes: Guilty Pleasure Edition

RecordsYou can try to deny it, but once in a while even a true connoisseur of great music like you likes to sit back and indulge in some music that more refined people might call tacky, tasteless or just plain annoying. Don’t worry, we secretly love it, too (sometimes). Here’s a rundown of some teas to try when you’re all alone conducting your own secret shameful singalongs.

Fall in Love Rooibos with Red by Taylor Swift.

Love is tough. Just ask the current queen of broken hearts, Taylor Swift. Most of us don’t have three mansions and millions in record sales to console us, so we might just have to drown our sorrows in a cup of tea. Why no try Fall in Love Again, the winner of our 2012 blending contest which is currently one of our featured teas? Whether you’re getting over your own breakup, or bemoaning someone else’s (Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez? Say it ain’t so!), this brew will have you believing in the power of love once again!

Winter Evening Blend with All I Want for Christmas by Mariah Carey (Featuring Justin Bieber)

With plenty of classic holiday songs to choose from, creating a new holiday standard is a tricky feat, but Mariah Carey managed to do just that in the 90s with this Christmas jam. And what better way to bring it into the new century than letting tween sensation Justin Bieber in on the action? An odd coupling to be sure as the lithe 18 year old and Mariah flirt throughout the video, but sometimes weird matches create great harmony. Just look at our Winter Evening Blend which features pistachio, and orange (amongst other flavors) to find that perfect Holiday mix of sweet and spice.

Warning: by the end of the Holiday season all you may actually want for Christmas is this song out of your head.

Fireside Chat with Somebody that I Used to Know by Gotye

It really has been the year of the break up. Adele’s break up album ˜21′ dominated the airwaves, K-Stew called it quits, Katy Perry lost her beau, Justin and Selena are on the outs, any number of relationships have ended for Taylor Swift, and even Seal and Heidi Klum divorced. It’s no wonder Gotye’s Somebody that I used to Know became one of the most inescapable songs of the year. But who knows, you and an estranged romance might rekindle what you lost over a nice cup of tea. The first step is talking things over with a cup of Fireside Chat. A real hearth to hearth could easily heat things up again!

Marzipan Medley with Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen

And finally, this post wouldn’t be complete without Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe, which, depending on your mood, can easily go from earcandy to earcancer in a heartbeat. The Justin Bieber protege (yes, there is such a thing), has absolutely dominated 2012 with her infectiously sweet single. Equally as addictive? Our Marzipan Medley Green Tea. Just like Carly Rae, it’s sweet, spicy and fresh for a taste that will have you calling back for more.
