Recipe: Traditional Masala Chai Latte

Chai is the word for tea in many parts of the world, but some people use the name to refer to a distinct blend of black tea and spices. Often prepared with milk and sweetened (called a chai latte), it is a hugely popular tea blend. Common spices include cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, and pepper.

The Tea Smith collection of chai teas range from traditional to fruity to herbal blends. Serve something with sugar and spice and everything nice.

Ingredients:

  • 9g Traditional Masala Chai steeped for 5 mins in 14 oz of 208°F water. 
  • Sweetener of choice. We use 1/2 oz. vanilla syrup.
  • 4oz Frothed milk of choice

Directions:

  1. Pour steeped tea and frothed milk into cup together.
  2. Top with remaining foamy milk.
  3. Garnish with ground cinnamon.
