How do you beat the dog-days of summer? Head to the pool? Or stay in an air conditioned room with a good book? This late in the season, your summer reading list may be coming to an end. If you need a few more suggestions for good books with your cup of tea, than read on! Whether you like to indulge in the classics or keep up to date on the latest best-seller lists, get your kettle on and settle in to a comfy chair. There is sure to be a novel here that you can add to your list.
The Classics
For those of us who have a bent toward more traditional things — Earl Grey, English Breakfast, Tolstoy or Jane Austin — check out this list to revisit some old favorites or pick one that you have never read before. You may have been forced to read To Kill a Mockingbird in junior high, but try it again. You may be surprised at what you missed all those years ago. Or, pick up A Tree Grows in Brooklyn for an innocent look at growing up poor in the city.
New Picks
If you like to try new things and stay up to date with what’s current, you may want to take a look at this list of books with release dates from June through August. While you are at it, try a few of our new and featured summer teas like Summer Companion Black Tea or Emerald Sun Green Tea.
A personal favorite on my reading list this summer can almost be in a category of its own. Go Set a Watchman, by Harper Lee, the author of To Kill a Mockingbird, is a new release and picks up twenty years after her first novel.
What are your favorite reads from this summer? What will you pick up next?
