If you love tea but don’t have time to wait, these shortcuts will get you to your favorite flavor faster.
Chill It Out with… Spoons.
When you need to bring hot tea to a drinkable temperature fast, place three or more spoons in the mug. They’ll take the heat for you.
Make “Instant” Loose Leaf Iced Tea.
Make a concentrate and dilute it with ice. Brew your tea hot for the recommended time and temperature using half the water. Then fill a glass with ice and gently pour the concentrated tea over the ice, avoiding contact with the cold glass to prevent cracking. The ice will melt, diluting the tea to the proper strength and making “instant” iced tea.
Prep Iced Tea for a Party.
If you forgot to make iced tea last night, all you need is our Takeya Flash Chill Iced Tea Pitcher. Add enough loose leaf tea for 1/2 gallon into the infuser basket, fill the pitcher halfway with water, and infuse the tea for the recommended time. Then remove the infuser basket, fill the pitcher with ice, and shake. Enjoy right away or store in the fridge.
Make Your Own Tea Bag.
When you’re on the go and don’t have time to clean out an infuser, add some loose leaf tea or herbal infusion to a personal tea sack. Then fill a thermos (we recommend our Tea Smith Tumbler) with hot water and toss in the tea sack. After it brews for the correct amount of time, pull out the tea sack and save it for later infusions or toss it in your compost pile. If you’ve infused teas with mint, you can place the used tea sacks around the house to repel pests.
Take Your Infuser Out on the Town.
Take your tea to go while it’s still brewing with the stainless steel Insulated Tea Press, available in four colors. Steep your tea in the enclosed infuser basket, then plunge it when time’s up. The solid bottom of the basket prevents the tea from infusing further.
