Katie, I just discovered your blog! I have to agree that Earl Grey is a classic, memorable to me because it was for a long time the only flavored tea I was aware of after the typical black tea found in tea bags. That was before I discovered the variety of fresh loose leaf teas! Back then, it brought the opportunity to try something different. With so many other choices available today, it doesn't have such a strong hold on me, but the aroma of bergamot still sharpens my sense that something different, even exotic may be available for sampling.

I definately have a preference for iced tea in the hot weather, and yet I cannot go without a hot cup in the morning.

I am just beginning my journey to really learn about tea and enjoy it many ways.

My husband and I are avid tea lovers but definite novices. We recently wrote two songs about tea and its health benefits for a scholarship competition and we learned so much. Tea is awesome and there is so much more to it – whichever type you prefer – than I ever realized. If you are interested, here are our two songs and music videos about tea:
From YouTube:
The Teacup Tango: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOmoshHoQU0

The Scale of Tea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4VFblIDgNI

We'd love to hear what you think.

Fluoride is also found in Rooibos. Loose tea has the most concentration
of fluoride compared to tea bags

Adding flavors is farily subjective depending on ones flavor preferences. I always look to those that will blend with or enhance the flavor of the tea rather than masking it.

One choice is peppermint. A strong green tea, such as gunpowder combined with mint is the classic Moroccan Mint.

I have also seen apple, apricot, cherry and pear as popular choices.

Experimenting is half the fun!

Enjoy

Speaking of tea and flavoring, I just purchased loose green tea. While I enjoy the flavor of loose green tea, I am interested in adding another flavor to perk up the flavor of my green tea. What flavors do you recommend that I add to the loose green tea for great taste?

Thanks!
